Interview with @sittingonsaturn_sos_fans

What was your first experience with the band’s music?

I was first introduced to Sitting on Saturn in 2021 when they opened for the Jonas Brothers on their first tour post-Covid. I was so wildly entertained by their performance that hours later, even after seeing Kelsea Ballerini and the Jonas Brothers put on their incredible performances, I was still thinking about the songs they played. I bought tickets to their next show while still in the parking lot and started saving all of their available music on Spotify. SOS has been in my top 3 on Spotify every year since.

What is your favorite song and why?

Choosing a favorite song is an impossible task. The entire Looking Past Red Flags album is incredible. I do have a soft spot for Baby Girl because I had to listen to it off of an iPhone video I took at their show for 2 years while I not so patiently waited for it to be released. I also love Rose Colored Glasses live; the first time I heard Kyle rap, my jaw hit the floor! Ticket to New York is another banger and has quickly become a favorite. It reminds me of all my favorite pop-punk middle school jams.

How has the band’s music impacted your life?

The band as a whole has impacted me in ways I never would have dreamed of. I randomly met Hoyt and his family on the street in Catalina Island in 2024 while I was there for work. This chance interaction led to me getting to work with the band and photograph some of their SoCal shows. I’ve become an even bigger fan since getting to know Hoyt, Trevor, and Kyle.

What do you appreciate most about the band?

I truly can not say enough good things about these guys. Having had the privilege of working with them is a blast, and they have been nothing but kind and welcoming to me. Their talent speaks for itself, but what has stood out to me from the very first show has been their character. They are funny, hard-working, humble, kind, and just genuinely good people.

Have you been to any shows? What was that like?

I’ve attended many shows at this point but it never gets old. If anyone in the crowd hasn’t heard their music before, they leave the show a new fan. Everyone who is already a fan is stoked to be there and brings the energy. The electricity in the room is just unmatched from start to finish. I love rooting for Sitting on Saturn and cant wait to see all they accomplish!
