There are some stories that remind you why you love what you do, and Julia and Mike’s proposal in Venice Beach California was one of those unforgettable moments. It was a perfect blend of love, surprise, and celebration – with a touch of cinematic filmy magic as the sun set over the Pacific Ocean.
The day started with a bit of teamwork and excitement. I met up with their friend Kathrine, who had been instrumental in helping Mike plan the surprise. While Mike had whisked Julia away to a rooftop bar overlooking Venice Beach for what she thought was a romantic anniversary dinner, Katherine had set up a romantic picnic right on the beach. The scene was beautifully simple yet heartfelt: a blanket surrounded by candles, a bottle of champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a bouquet of sunflowers. As the golden hour light bathed the beach, the setup couldn’t have been more perfect.
After their dinner, Julia and Mike made their way down to the beach. As they walked hand in hand, Mike distracted Julia by pointing out some surfers so she wouldn’t notice the picnic setup until they were closer. But the moment she saw it and realized it was meant for her was absolutely priceless. Mike dropped to one knee. He poured his heart out, and Julia’s joyous “yes” was met with cheers and happy tears. Almost immediately, their friends, who had been waiting nearby, rushed over to congratulate the newly engaged couple. The air was filled with laughter, hugs, and the clinking of champagne glasses.
As the evening unfolded, we captured the magic through photographs. Julia and Mike’s love was radiant as they played and loved on each other in front of the dreamy backdrop of the ocean and sunset. From candid moments of laughter to quiet, intimate gazes, every shot told the story of their love and the joy of this special day.
Julia and Mike’s proposal wasn’t just a milestone in their story; it was a reminder of the beauty of connection and the power of love. I feel so honored to have been part of their journey and to have captured memories they’ll treasure forever.
