In January 2022 I had the honor of getting to photograph my first swim brand, Acacia swim, at Roamers Workshop in Oahu, Hawaii. I was a little nervous for this shoot since I wasn’t as confident in my skills to photograph brands just yet, but I was excited to learn in this fun and encouraging setting.

The shoot was at one of my all time favorite beaches and our models Jaylee and Bri were incredible to work with. We started out in some green toned suits by the water to loosen up before moving into the jungle for some creative shots. These suits worked perfectly with the lush, Hawaiian foliage. Next we changed into some warmer toned suits as the sun was starting to set. The most beautiful golden hour rolled in for the end of put photoshoot. I swear every shot felt like magic and I couldn’t believe the images I was capturing were really my work.

When I got back to my computer I was stunned by the images I was uploading. I didn’t know I was capable of such creativity and I was only having more fun with the post production editing. When editing I added some grain and played with crops. This gave the photos the filmy, editorial style I had always hoped to capture. I walked away so confident in my craft and so happy I branched out and tried something new. I’m so thankful to everyone who was involved.
