One of my favorite things about photographing for brands is that each one has its own unique story. Someone, somewhere, had a passion and decided to bring it to life. Behind every brand, there are meaningful details and a purpose-driven origin story. This is definitely true for Kendall Jenner’s 818 tequila brand and I had so much fun bringing this story to life.
The name 818 comes from the area code for Los Angeles, California which is Jenner’s hometown. 818 tequila is sourced from family-owned farms in Mexico and only uses high-quality ingredients to make their product. When creating their products they are very sustainability-minded as they “feel a great sense of responsibility and pride to have an impact on communities and the environment.” They partner with several different programs including 1% For The Planet, The Venture Out Project, and are pursuing B Corp Certification.
The 818 tequila brand has style, purpose, and high-quality products. That is why we chose the details of this shoot carefully. The photoshoot location was on a farm in Mexico as a nod to the local family-owned farmers they source from. Additionally, the models are young, fun-loving, and powerful women, a reflection of the women-owned business they are modeling for. Creating for 818 was such a blast and I am in love with the outcome of the images.
